Student answer (Band 6.0)

Mobile payments are becoming popular in these days around the world as more and more people are using their phones to make everydy payments. Although this development has some disadvantages, I believe the advantages are more.

There are number of advantages of using online payments . First of all , It is very convenint and time saving because people do not need to carry any kind of card or cash as they just need to tap or scan qr codes and payments done within a second .It is very useful when you are in hurry , for example:- You are going for shopping and you have less time t count how much money you should carry instead of carring money yoy just need your phone whoch is very simple.

Moreover, It is very easy to track your spendings through apps because it keeps the records and it is also helpful to manage your budgets . Apart from this, you can easily check your monthly statments throughout the banking apps, you do not need to go bank to waste your time. Also, Phone payments are safe as it requires face locks , passwords etc. but if you carry a cash and you lose it so it is very hard to recover .

On the other hand, there are some drawbacks like technology probleems sometimes internet not work and sometimes our phone battery low. Also some people like older people are not comfortable with the new technology .

Overall, mobile payments can risky if gets technoogy problems but I believe it is more conveint and time saving.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, and a clear position is maintained throughout. The ideas, such as convenience, budgeting, and security, are relevant. However, the development of these points is somewhat superficial. For instance, the example provided about shopping is slightly repetitive and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your arguments with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion is brief but effectively restates your position. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of argument could be improved to better support your claims.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are used to signal transitions between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward sentence structures. Referencing is generally clear, but the use of punctuation—specifically the spacing around commas and the use of colons—is inconsistent, which disrupts the reading flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring consistent punctuation would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'scan qr codes', 'monthly statements', and 'face locks'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'everydy', 'convenint', 'carring', 'yoy', 'whoch', and 'probleems'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. While you attempt to use a range of vocabulary, the lack of precision and the recurring spelling mistakes limit your score. Focusing on proofreading for spelling and expanding your range of collocations would help you achieve a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include missing articles ('go bank' instead of 'go to the bank'), subject-verb agreement ('internet not work'), and awkward phrasing ('payments done within a second'). Punctuation is also a significant issue, with spaces placed before commas and periods, which is grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from being considered error-free. You should focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for punctuation and article usage.
