Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of mobile payment apps. You clearly state that there are more advantages, and you provide relevant points such as convenience, record-keeping, and tax transparency. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited by the repetitive nature of the arguments. While you mention cybercrime as a disadvantage, it is not explored in as much depth as the advantages. To reach a higher band, ensure that both sides of the argument are balanced and that each point is supported with more specific, illustrative examples rather than just listing benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., starting multiple sentences with 'So' or 'Because of this'). Some transitions between ideas are abrupt, and the logical flow within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the transition from discussing personal convenience to national economic development feels a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your ideas, including terms like 'digital transactions', 'cyber crime', and 'industry revolutions'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'rapid space' instead of 'rapid pace', 'stollen' (spelling error), and 'good tax' instead of 'goods and services tax'. The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Focusing on learning common collocations and checking spelling will help you convey your points more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every person having mobile'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'money theft, burglary, records more tax benefit'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense and pluralization.
