Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 84 words. Consequently, the ideas are severely underdeveloped. While the prompt asks for a discussion on whether there are more advantages or disadvantages, the response provides only a brief list of points without sufficient explanation or examples. The position is not clearly maintained or supported, and the lack of length prevents the development of a coherent argument. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the minimum word count to allow for a full discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the ideas are presented as a series of fragmented sentences rather than a cohesive essay. Paragraphing is absent, and there is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas together. For example, the transition between the benefits and the risks is abrupt. To improve, you should organize your essay into clear paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and use linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand' to guide the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive, with several spelling errors that hinder readability, such as 'trough' instead of 'through', 'sacure' for 'secure', 'banifit' for 'benefit', 'trangicition' for 'transaction', and 'froud' for 'fraud'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple words like 'easy' and 'fast'. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and collocations, and ensure that your spelling is accurate to avoid confusion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('paying for goods... through mobile'), incorrect verb forms, and sentence fragments. Many sentences lack proper punctuation and capitalization, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, you should focus on using a variety of sentence structures, including complex sentences with subordinate clauses, and pay closer attention to basic grammar rules like subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
