Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear position. The ideas are relevant, such as convenience and security concerns. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding the uncle is a bit anecdotal and lacks a broader context. The explanation of the drawbacks is relevant, but the claim that '20% of people' in India were scammed lacks a credible source or a more general framing. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the implications of these points with more sophisticated reasoning rather than relying on personal anecdotes or specific statistics that may not be verifiable.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'they transactions which he or she made'. Additionally, some sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, which affects the flow of the text. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'online banking', 'scammers', and 'privacy'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'Spending money from the digital method' instead of 'digital payment methods' and 'pupil' instead of 'users' or 'consumers'. There are also minor spelling errors like 'loss' instead of 'lost'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and expanding your range of academic vocabulary to avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'he has their cards in mobile so he can for his expense' and 'people can face difficult while paying'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. Punctuation is also a significant issue, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
