Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this technology era, mobile phone is popular all over the world. In most countries, purchasing apps increasing day by day and people spend a lot of money to get memberships. It has some benefits and drawbacks, which I will discuss in the upcoming paragraphs.
First of all, people are totally dependent on their mobile phones. In this small box people find everything in organized way such as e-mail,entertainment and bank balancing. So they do not need travel to visit outdoor activities. In the mobile phones most of the apps are free to use but some of them people have to buy subscription like to create pdf or youtube premium, people have to pay. For getting back people feel glad like they do not have to go anywhere for making their presentation or for entertainment. For instance, last month I was confused how to make changes in my project presentation, I bought one software it totally works for me and I get 6 months subscription from the software company.
On the other hand, when people have leisure time they explore the multimedia on their cellphones and they prefer to invest some money on their favourite games or movies. According to me it is the wastage of money. Specially youngster do this with their parents credit or debit cards. For example, One of my colleague told me his kid buy game subscription it cost approximately $445 without knowing them. Which is huge amount of money and in future it has bad affect on the generation
In conclusion, some working apps are good to pay because they help to cover some features which you actually need. But most of the children spend money on the games which is totally rubish.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The candidate addresses the general topic of using mobile phone apps for purchasing, presenting both advantages and disadvantages, thereby fulfilling the core requirements of the prompt. A position is presented, noting that useful apps are beneficial while games can be a waste of money. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and relies heavily on personal anecdotes rather than broader arguments. The discussion on advantages touches upon convenience and utility, while the disadvantage section focuses on youngsters spending money inadvertently. While the ideas are relevant, they tend to be slightly superficial and could be extended further to fully meet higher band criteria. Overall, the response addresses all parts of the task though some aspects are more fully developed than others, aligning well with Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The text is organized with a clear introduction and conclusion, and body paragraphs are demarcated with signposting phrases such as "First of all" and "On the other hand". However, the logical progression is at times disrupted by awkward referencing and abrupt transitions between sentences. For example, sentences within the body paragraphs can feel disjointed, such as transitioning from finding things in a small box directly to travel and outdoor activities. Cohesive devices are used, but sometimes mechanically or inappropriately, such as "For getting back people feel glad". Paragraphing is present, but the internal flow within paragraphs requires more careful management and clearer logical links to achieve a higher band level. This performance corresponds to a solid Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching upon terms like "subscriptions", "leverage", and "wastage of money". However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as "purchasing apps increasing", "bank balancing", and "working apps". Spelling and word formation errors also appear, including "rubish" and "affect" instead of "effect". While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general message, these errors and a lack of less common lexical items prevent the response from achieving a higher score. The lexical control displayed is consistent with a Band 5.5, which is rounded to a 6.0 based on adequate task coverage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, using conditional and subordinate clauses such as "when people have leisure time they explore..." and "which is huge amount of money". However, grammatical errors are frequent throughout the text, particularly regarding missing articles, pluralization, and subject-verb agreement, such as "mobile phone is popular", "kid buy game subscription", and "without knowing them". Punctuation errors are also present, and sentence boundaries are sometimes blurred. These errors occasionally cause strain for the reader, although they rarely impede overall communication entirely. This structural variety coupled with persistent errors places the grammar performance firmly at Band 5.5, represented here as a 5.5.
