Student answer (Band 6.0)

In many developed nations, every mobile user is using mobile applications such as banking apps, UPI, to make payments. In my opinion, this development has many advantages. Nowadays, buyers do not need to worry about carrying physical cash. In addition, citizens get assurance that their money is safe and secure.

To commence with, consumers had to carry physical cash all the times while purchasing in the past. In detail, it was quite hard for them to manage cash everytime. When there were no banking apps, people always had to go to banks for cash withdrawl. It was a troublesome situation specially for working womens. As womens already have alot of responsibilities like taking care of their loved ones, managing job, etc. These days, their life is more convenient. Hence, mobile applictions are advantageous for everyone.

Moreover, Buyers do not need to worry that their money would steal or loss. In particular, they do not have think much about safety as well as security of their resources. All these banking apps either it is CIBC Bank, RBC Bank, etc. delivers excellent service to their customers. They hire best software engineers which manage these applications. Therefore, there is no chance of frawd or any lllegal activity. For instance, in the year 2016, almost 70,000 scams were prevented by the team of software engineers in CIBC bank. That is why, people can easily rely on these applications.

In conclusion, these days buyers do not need to worry about carrying physical money and worry about the safety.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages of mobile payment applications, taking a clear position that this development has many advantages. The ideas presented, such as eliminating the need to carry physical cash and enhancing security, are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, particularly in the conclusion and body paragraphs. While the writer mentions convenience and safety, the elaboration lacks depth and specific comparative analysis regarding potential disadvantages, which would provide a more fully developed response. The assertions, such as claiming there is 'no chance of fraud', tend to over-generalise. Therefore, this performance aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and body paragraphs are demarcated adequately. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive, such as the recurring use of 'In particular' and 'In detail'. Paragraphing is used, but the progression of ideas within paragraphs can sometimes be disjointed, and referencing is occasionally imprecise. Overall, the organizational structure is sufficiently clear to guide the reader through the text without major difficulty, satisfying the Band 6 criteria.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and industry-specific terms such as 'banking applications', 'software engineers', and 'transactions' implicitly. However, there are notable word choice, collocation, and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'withdrawl' instead of withdrawal, 'womens' instead of women, 'steal or loss' instead of stolen or lost, 'think much about' instead of worry about, and 'frawd' instead of fraud. Although these errors are noticeable and detract from precision, they do not severely impede communication, placing the vocabulary performance firmly at Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and plurals, such as 'every mobile user is using' followed by examples, 'all the times', 'womens already have alot', and 'All these banking apps... delivers'. Punctuation and article usage also show frequent lapses. While these errors do not completely obscure the intended meaning, they cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited ability to control complex structures reliably, which corresponds to a Band 5.5 score.
