Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this rapidly evolving world, the use of paid mobile phone apps has become a matter of considerable public interest, sparking widespread debate among individual and society. This trend is raising day by day and I firmly believe that this development has more positives. I will elaborate on my perspective in the forthcoming paragraphs before reaching a relevant conclusion.
To begin with, educational apps are very helpful to make learning more interesting and engaged. In other words, application such as Grammarly can help students to improve their writing skills by recognizing grammatical mistakes and suggesting appropriate corrections. It also leads to improve sentence structure. For instance, it is beneficial for scholars who do not have access to a personal tutor, they can receive instant feedbacks. As a result, learners can develop their language abilities more effectively while learning independently.
Another benefit of paid mobile applications is that it provide users with greater accessibility and convenience. People can excess wide range of services like fitness programmes and financial management tools at anytime and anywhere. They can manage their finance smoothly by using banking apps and stay fit by follow the guidelines provider by the programmer. For example, people with busy work schedule can pay their bills, transfer money and monitor their expenses without visiting bank and can do workout at home. Therefore, paid applications can save time and make daily activities more convenient.
To sum up, using paid cellphone apps offer great benefits to individual. It make learning more interesting and provide greater convenience in managing daily activities. Thus, I believe that this is a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and establishes a clear position that mobile payment apps have more advantages. However, the development of ideas is uneven. For instance, the introduction mentions paid mobile apps broadly, but the first body paragraph shifts entirely to discussing educational apps like Grammarly rather than focusing primarily on mobile payment or financial apps, showing a slight drift from the core prompt. While the second body paragraph addresses accessibility, financial management tools, and bill payments fitting the prompt directly, some supporting ideas remain somewhat under-developed, preventing the response from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is used logically to separate distinct points, such as educational tools and financial convenience. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Another benefit', and 'To sum up' are employed to guide the reader through the text. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally mechanical or slightly faulty, such as in the transition between sentences in the second body paragraph ('For instance, it is beneficial for scholars who do not have access to a personal tutor, they can receive instant feedbacks'), which reflects the transition into the next band by showing clear organization but lacking fully seamless logical progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'considerable public interest', 'rapidly evolving world', and 'financial management tools'. However, there are notable lexical and word-choice errors that do not impede communication, including 'paid mobile phone apps' (where the prompt specifies apps used for paying), 'application' instead of the plural 'applications', 'excess' instead of 'access', 'follow the guidelines provider' instead of 'provider', and 'feedbacks' (which is uncountable). These occasional errors in word choice, spelling, and word form place the lexical resource firmly within this band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as relative clauses and conditional-style examples. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, but they rarely impede communication. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('this trend is raising' instead of 'rising', 'applications is that it provide' instead of 'provide'), comma splices ('for scholars who do not have access to a personal tutor, they can receive'), and prepositional slips ('by follow' instead of 'by following'). Because simple sentences are generally controlled while attempts at complex forms introduce frequent minor errors, the writing sits comfortably in this band.
