Student answer (Band 5.0)
As we all know that every coin has two sides. The given statement saying numerous countries, paying for things using mobile phone applications are increasing day by day and becoming more common also have both advantages and disadvantages. In the upcoming paragraps , I will explain its both sides one by one.
Firstly, I will discuss its advantages. The first and foremost advantage of this technology is that people not need to carry cash with themselves. They can make cash free payments by using mobile applications in less than a seconds. Furthermore, another advantage of this technology is that it reduces the fear of money robbery to large extent. Masses can move freely without any worring of loss of money at any places. In addition, they can buy anything online from any part of the world in less than a minute by going anywhere.
Now I am going to disuss its another side. In drawbacks, one major problem is increasing chances of getting online fraud . Hackers nowadays are very active on internet , with the help of darkweb they are stealing money from bussiness, government and even common man. For example, last month one of my friend buy something from mobile shop during his vacation in Australia while making payment my friend didn't get any message regarding payment , so he again tap the mobile phone at shop .When he came back home at night he was surprised to see that he make payments two times. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response addresses the prompt minimally, attempting to discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of mobile payment applications. However, the position is not always clearly sustained, and the ideas presented are quite limited and under-developed, relying on simple assertions rather than detailed extension or well-chosen examples. For instance, the discussion of disadvantages trails off abruptly without a complete conclusion. Furthermore, the task requires a minimum of 250 words, and this response falls short at 248 words, which negatively impacts the overall task fulfillment. To improve towards a higher band, the writer must ensure the word count requirement is fully met and develop each main idea with deeper explanations, clear topic sentences, and fully realized supporting examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The text shows some evidence of logical organization, utilizing basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition' to guide the reader through the paragraphs. However, overall progression is limited, and the use of cohesive devices can feel somewhat mechanical or repetitive. Paragraphing is attempted, with an introductory paragraph, a body paragraph for advantages, and a beginning of a body paragraph for disadvantages, but the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence, leaving the structure incomplete. Referencing is also occasionally unclear. To move up to the next band, the writer needs to ensure every paragraph is fully completed, maintain a smoother and more natural flow of ideas throughout the response, and vary cohesive devices beyond simple list-like transitional words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is of a limited yet minimally adequate range for discussing a common everyday topic. The student attempts some less common expressions such as 'cash free payments', 'money robbery', and 'darkweb', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'worring' instead of 'worrying' and 'disuss' instead of 'discuss'. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band score, the writer should expand their lexical repertoire, incorporate more precise and natural collocation phrases, and carefully check word forms and spelling before finalizing the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside a few basic complex attempts. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people not need to carry', 'one of my friend buy'), article usage, and prepositions (e.g., 'at shop', 'at any places'). These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and reveal a lack of control over more complex grammatical patterns. To reach the next band level, the student must increase the variety of sentence structures used, ensure better accuracy in basic verb forms and plurals, and reduce the frequency of grammatical slips.
