Student answer (Band 6.0)

Thesedays, its very common to use the mobile phone applications for any payment. I believe this trend have more advantages as compare to the disadvantages.

On the positive side:- firstly, using mobile phone application for payment is more convenient specially in online shopping because there is no need to go outside to pay for the product which is also save our time. For example:- Google Pay, these days many of the people are using this application. In online ap like Amazon, people just add their purchase items in cart, afterwards they pay the amount through the Google pay. Secondly, through the online payment, there are the chances to get cash back which is not possible in case of hard payment. There are alots of applications which provides the discount and cash back. For instance:- Ebay, is the one of the payment application, in which people are not only get discount but also get some vouchers.

On the negative side:- despite the above mentioned advantages, this trend has also some disadvatages. One of them is that misleading the personal information. While using the online application we have to give our personal details like:- name, mobile number, address and bank details. For example:- sometimes we receive the OTP or a link from unknown, if we click on that, there would be the chances of misuse our details.

In conclusion:- this trend is more postive due to time savings and more discount. However, if you click any link or share your OTP with unknown then there is the chances to lost your money or personal details.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction—mobile payments have more advantages—and you maintain it in the conclusion. You address both sides with relevant points: convenience and time-saving, cashback and discounts, and the risk of personal information being misused. The examples involving Google Pay, Amazon and suspicious links help make the discussion concrete. This meets the task well, but the support is uneven: the convenience example is explained, while the cashback point is mostly asserted, and the disadvantage could be developed by explaining how users can reduce the risk or how serious the consequences may be. To strengthen the response, extend each main idea with a clearer explanation and make the comparison between the benefits and the security risk more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “On the negative side” make the progression easy to follow. However, the repeated labels “On the positive side:-” and “In conclusion:-” make the linking feel mechanical, and some connections within sentences are unclear. For example, the transition from online shopping to Google Pay is understandable but could be more smoothly explained, while “despite the above mentioned advantages, this trend has also some disadvantages” is awkwardly connected. Use fewer formulaic signposts and link each example directly to the point it supports; clearer sentence boundaries would also improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “online payment,” “cash back,” “discount,” “personal details,” and “misuse.” There are also attempts at more specific terms such as “vouchers” and “OTP.” However, the range is limited and several word choices, forms, and spellings are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the reader pause. Examples include “hard payment,” “misleading the personal information,” “alots,” “disadvatages,” and “postive.” “Google Pay” and “Ebay” are also payment services or platforms rather than examples of payment applications in quite the same way. Build a more precise set of collocations for digital payments and check spelling and word forms carefully. This would make your meaning more natural and exact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate the main message, and there are attempts to combine ideas using clauses, as in “because there is no need to go outside to pay for the product.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur across verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “this trend have” should use a singular verb, while “which is also save our time” has an incorrect verb pattern. In “people are not only get discount,” the verb form is faulty, and “there is the chances” has a number-agreement problem. Punctuation and spacing also need attention, particularly around colons and full stops. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
