Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this modern era, cellphones play a crucial role in the day-to-day activities of a person to keep connected. In many nations, people use their mobilephones for the payment while buying something from shops.Nowadays, this phenomenon is increasing due to hectic lifestyle of people living in the modern scenario.Mainly, it helps people to save time and on the other side it impact on the handling of cash.In this essay,I state the advantages and disadvantages of this issue in a proper manner.

The first and foremost fact is that a lump sum amount of people are living in a hectic lifestyle. Thus, they are more accessible to transfer digital payments and transcactions through their mobilephones. It's because most people don't have enough time to practise offline payments while shopping or banking activities. For example,my Husband Gokul is working in Technopark,Mumbai.Due to his sedentary lifestyle, he orders food from KFC through online transactions.Secondly, some people who are suffering from health issues like joint pain, arthritis are unable to travel for a long to purchase things like clothes, groceries, footwears and so on.Likewise,it's a good way to purchase things through online transactions and are more convenient to them.

On the other hand, online transactions diverts people how to pay offline and it reduces their talent in handling cash for future. It's because,in the past days, people are more brilliant and productive in managing money for their future plans.Currently, they forget their talent to save money and using it on a unhandling method.

In conclusion, in many countries, people use their cellphones for paying things is becoming increasingly common. In my opinion, it's de

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response identifies relevant benefits of app payments, including convenience for busy people and access for people with mobility problems, and it gives a personal example involving your husband ordering food. However, the task asks you to decide whether the advantages or disadvantages are greater, and that judgement is not established: the introduction promises to discuss both sides, while the conclusion ends unfinished at “In my opinion, it's de”. The disadvantage about reduced cash-handling ability is also asserted rather than explained or supported. As a result, the response only partially fulfils the task and its position is unclear. State your view directly in the introduction and conclusion, then develop the main reasons with clear explanations and relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages and a conclusion. The sequence of ideas is generally understandable, and signposts such as “On the other hand” help indicate a change in direction. However, progression is limited: the introduction says the essay will present both sides “in a proper manner” without previewing a clear position, and the final sentence is incomplete, so the argument does not reach a proper conclusion. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including repeated “It's because” and “Likewise,” which does not clearly connect the health example to the preceding point. Use clearer topic sentences, explain how each example supports its point, and finish with a complete summary of your judgement.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response uses enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate its main ideas, including “digital payments,” “online transactions,” “health issues,” and “joint pain.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “sedentary lifestyle” and “lump sum amount,” but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural and make the meaning less precise. For example, “a lump sum amount of people” does not mean a large number of people, and “unhandling method” is unclear. Spelling and word formation also need attention in forms such as “transcactions” and “footwears.” Aim for natural collocations and precise wording, such as “many people,” “manage cash,” and “a sedentary lifestyle” only when the idea is genuinely about inactivity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “who,” so there is some structural variety. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “it impact on the handling of cash,” “online transactions diverts people,” and “people use their cellphones for paying things is becoming increasingly common.” The final sentence is also incomplete. Punctuation and spacing around commas and full stops are inconsistent, and articles and agreement need more reliable control. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and sentence boundaries before submitting.
