Student answer (Band 6.0)

At present time, submission of dues through mobile phone applications is becoming a very common trend. This practice has many pros and cons. But in my view point its merits are greater then demerits. This essay will explain both adavnatages and disadvantages of using cellphone apps to make online payments.

On the one hand, this practice has many benefits. You have no need to go to the bank for submission of dues to your college or university or for the transfer of amount to someone. You can do this through these mobile apps. Additionally, these apps are very useful for those who live in abroad as they can send money to their loved ones very easily. Moreover, online banking apps are very confidential and provide you with the complete transaction record in from of statement. If you buy something online, you can pay for it by using mobile phone apps.

On the other hand, it has some disadvantages too. There are many apps which are not authorized. Someone who do not know about this scam can become their vicitm and can face financial loss. There are many hackers who try to hack your apps by using different ways. A simple person who do not know much about it can be their easy victim.

To conclude, this practice has many demerits but its merits are remarkable. If someone use these apps wisely and carefully then can be saved from any negative impacts. So, its depend on us that how we use them to make our lives easier.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and state a clear view: “its merits are greater than demerits.” The benefits of convenience, sending money abroad and keeping transaction records are relevant, as are the risks of scams and hacking. However, several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, calling apps “very confidential” does not show why they are secure, and the risks could be illustrated with a specific example or clearer explanation of how users lose money. The conclusion repeats your position but adds little development. To strengthen the response, explain the impact of each main point and make the comparison between the advantages and disadvantages more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “Additionally,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the argument, and the ideas generally progress logically within each section. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, the repeated use of “Moreover” and “Additionally” makes connections somewhat mechanical, while the advantages paragraph lists several examples without grouping or developing them. The reference in “then can be saved” is also unclear because the subject is omitted. Use more varied links and make relationships between ideas explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “transaction record,” “financial loss,” “hack,” and “transfer.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “submission of dues,” “transfer of amount,” and “live in abroad.” There are also spelling errors, including “adavnatages” and “vic tim” (written as “vicitm”), which reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall message, but they make the writing less natural and precise. Build a bank of common payment-related collocations and check spelling carefully; prefer straightforward, accurate expressions over formal-sounding phrases that do not fit the context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple sentences and some longer structures, including the conditional idea “If someone use these apps wisely and carefully…” and the clause beginning “as they can send money.” Most meanings remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in verb agreement and sentence construction. For example, “Someone who do not know” should use a singular verb, and “If someone use” also needs agreement. In “then can be saved,” the subject is missing, while “its depend on us” has an incorrect verb form. These errors are noticeable but generally do not prevent communication. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and ensure conditional sentences include a clear subject and complete main clause.
