Student answer (Band 6.0)
Usage of mobile phones to make purchase is becoming increasingly common this development have tremendous advantages and disadvantages.I will discuss them as well as my own stand.
Mobile phones have eased the certain way individual make purchases, nowadays one can stay at the comfort of their homes and make purchases from another shop 25 kilometers away from them. This development have eased the way individuals and sellers interact but it has also necessitate the rate at which buyers get scammed for buying a particular product.
Furthermore purchases made through mobile phones have eased the rate at which sellers have physical stores which have reduced certain cost-related issues for the sellers. This development have made it easier to run a store virtually reducing the risk that comes with having a physical shop. For instance my uncle's store caught fire recently because how exposed the shop has been to vehicles and trailers on the road.
I strongly and affirmatively believe that purchases made through mobile phones have long lasting advantages than disadvantages, nowadays most businesses are leaning towards having a website where people can buy products virtually at the comfort of their homes. This advancement also led to multiple advancements in technology where sellers now conduct live streaming of products allowing buyers to make purchases at a discounted price.
In conclusion paying for things using mobile phone have numerous advantages than disadvantages with majority of the advantage leading to increased technology advancement on how sellers can optimize fast paced delivery of products which were purchased using cellphones.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question by discussing benefits and a drawback, then clearly state that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Relevant points include shopping from home, reduced costs for sellers, and the risk of scams. However, some ideas are more fully addressed than others: the scam point is mentioned but not explained or illustrated, and the uncle’s shop fire supports the risks of physical stores more than the specific advantages of paying through phone apps. The discussion of live-streaming and discounts is relevant but would be stronger with a clearer link to app-based payment. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example so the comparison directly answers the question throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, supporting paragraphs, a clear statement of your position, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “Furthermore,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, the progression is sometimes unclear because the first body paragraph combines convenience with scams, while the next shifts to physical shops without a clear transition explaining how this relates to mobile payments. Some references, such as “This development,” could point to more than one preceding idea, and the conclusion repeats the advantages claim rather than synthesising the comparison. Organise each paragraph around one main point and use clearer links between the point, explanation, and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “scammed,” “cost-related issues,” “virtually,” “live streaming,” and “discounted price.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and you attempt some less common expressions. At times, however, word choice and collocation are imprecise or repetitive: “eased the rate” does not naturally express a reduction, and “long lasting advantages” is less suitable for comparing benefits with drawbacks. “Advancement” and “advantages” also recur without much variation. Aim for more precise phrases for online transactions, seller costs, and consumer risks, and check that each expression fits the meaning you intend.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “For instance” and a concluding clause about delivery. The main message is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas harder to follow. For example, the opening joins two independent clauses without suitable punctuation, and “This development have” shows subject–verb disagreement. There are also issues with articles and sentence construction in “at the comfort of their homes” and “because how exposed the shop has been.” Review agreement, articles, and clause boundaries, and proofread long sentences by separating them where needed. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
