Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Varin,
I hope you are doing well. I am really excitied that you are planning to go camping holiday this summer. I would love to share a few suggestions that might help you make the most of the experience.
firstly, i believe you would thoroughly enjoy camping because you love spending time outdoors. It would give you opportunity to explore beautiful surrondings, enjoy fresh air and take a break from daily hectic schedule. Moreover you should also enjoy some activities such as hiking, fishing and sitting around campfire at night.
however, there are some few demerits you should consider. for instance, unpredictable weather, insects and lack of proper facilities might make your trip slightly uncomforatable. Sleeping in tent can be also challenging , especilly for someone who never camped before. Therefore, i would recommend carrying some warm clothes and essential supplies.
As per as, I am concerned , I would absolutely love to join you this summer. It would be wonderful opportunity for us to spend some quality time together and create unforgettable memories.
Looking forward to your reply.
your Lovingluy
khush

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three points clearly: you explain why Varin may enjoy the outdoors and activities, mention drawbacks such as weather, insects and limited facilities, and state directly that you would love to join. Your advice to bring warm clothes and supplies also supports the discussion of disadvantages. The friendly purpose and relationship are clear throughout, and the ideas are relevant and extended with examples. To make the response more fully developed, explain a little more about how the disadvantages could affect the trip or how your suggested preparations would help. Overall, the task is handled clearly, though some points remain fairly general.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information follows a clear sequence: an opening, reasons to enjoy camping, possible disadvantages, your decision to join, and a closing. Paragraphing helps the reader distinguish these stages, while connectors such as “Moreover,” “For instance,” and “Therefore” show how ideas relate. The progression is easy to follow and the letter format is appropriate. Some transitions are a little mechanical, however, and the opening sentence of the second paragraph begins with “firstly” without consistent capitalization. You could make the links feel more natural by connecting examples directly to the point they support and varying the transitions. The sign-off would also benefit from clearer separation and conventional capitalization.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a friendly advice letter, including “unpredictable weather,” “essential supplies,” “quality time,” and “unforgettable memories.” These choices communicate the main ideas effectively, and the camping-related vocabulary is relevant. There are, however, several spelling errors, including “excitied,” “surrondings,” “uncomforatable,” and “especilly,” which reduce accuracy. Some expressions are also awkward or imprecise, such as “go camping holiday,” “daily hectic schedule,” and “some few demerits.” Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this would make your vocabulary more precise while preserving the warm, informal tone.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response includes both simple sentences and more developed structures, such as “I believe you would thoroughly enjoy camping because you love spending time outdoors” and the sentence explaining that facilities might make the trip uncomfortable. Meaning remains clear despite some grammatical and punctuation errors. For example, “It would give you opportunity” needs an article, and “Sleeping in tent can be also challenging” has problems with article use and word order. There are also inconsistent capital letters after sentence breaks and missing spaces after full stops. Review articles, sentence boundaries, and punctuation, and proofread for consistent capitalization. More accurate control of these basics would strengthen the otherwise clear message.
