Student answer (Band 7.0)

Dear Loveleen,

I hope you are you doing well. I was thrilled to know you that you are planning your very first camping this summer. This is incredible way to relax and take a break from a hectic routine. I am sure you are going to love it.

I really think camping will suit you, as you enjoy nature. It is like a sleeping under sky in scenic view and waking up to fresh air. This will be a great change of scenery and environment from the city. It is an exellent opportunity to spend some time with your self away from screens and unwind your self.

However, there are some problems that you can face as a first timer. Setting up a tent can be tricky part. It take lot of time and dedication, if you have not practiced before. In addition, weather in the forest is very unpredictable. It is always be a great idea to prepare for rain and chilly nights.

I would love to join you on this trip if you are open to it. I have a four-person tent and plenty of experience with camp cooking. So I could help you settle in. Let me know which date you are planning to go. I will be waiting for your response.

Warm wishes,

Manisha

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5

You address all three points clearly and maintain an appropriate, friendly tone throughout. The reasons camping would suit Loveleen are supported with relevant details, such as enjoying nature, sleeping outdoors, and taking a break from screens. You also identify practical disadvantages—tent setup and unpredictable weather—and explain your willingness to join, adding useful support about your tent and camp-cooking experience. This gives the letter a clear purpose and a consistent position. To make the ideas more fully developed, you could explain a little more about how the disadvantages might affect a first-time camper or how you would help manage them. Overall, the response covers the task well, with only some scope to extend its supporting details.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.5

The letter is organised in a clear sequence: opening and enthusiasm, reasons to camp, possible difficulties, and your offer to join. Paragraphing helps the reader follow each part, and transitions such as “However” and “In addition” make the shift to disadvantages easy to understand. The closing also follows naturally from your offer. Some links between sentences are less smooth, particularly “I was thrilled to know you that…” and the transition from the general benefits to the specific examples. A few ideas could be connected more naturally rather than presented as separate statements. The overall progression is clear and cohesive; more precise linking and reference would make the flow even more polished.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a friendly letter, including relevant expressions such as “hectic routine,” “change of scenery,” “unwind,” and “unpredictable.” These choices communicate the benefits and drawbacks effectively, and the tone is generally suitable. There are, however, some spelling and word-choice or collocation errors, including “exellent,” “first camping,” and “sleeping under sky in scenic view.” Phrases such as “with your self” and “unwind your self” also show inaccurate word formation and spacing. These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce naturalness and precision. Aim to learn common camping collocations and check spelling and compound forms carefully; this would make your vocabulary more flexible and idiomatic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the reason clause “as you enjoy nature,” the conditional “if you have not practiced before,” and the offer “if you are open to it.” Most ideas remain easy to understand, and the letter’s sentences are generally well punctuated. Some grammatical errors are present, however: “I hope you are you doing well” has an extra verb, “It take lot of time” has incorrect agreement and missing articles, and “It is always be a great idea” uses an incorrect verb pattern. There are also article and preposition problems in “a great change of scenery and environment from the city.” Review verb forms, subject–verb agreement, and article use, then proofread each sentence for a complete, accurate structure.
