Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dearest Smita,

Hope this letter find you in good health. Hey! I heard that you are thinking Of going on a camping holiday at Sasan gir for the first time in the summer. You would enjoy a lot because this is the best time for exploring the nature, and observing the animals.

I have been listing so many story from my olds school friends about a campings They always told that camping in the forest is one of the adventurous experience anyone ever have. However, be careful there are dangerous insects seen in mounting they

might be infections to us. Additionally wild animals may attack tents, particularly in forest areas. Therefore campers should take proper safety precautions such as setting up secure boundaries around campsite. Furthermore slow connectivity may

cause difficulty to communicate with family and

friends.

I was also thinking about summer holiday. I would be happy to join you on this camping. Making new memories and cherish old time at this adventure. We will all have great fun together.

Lot of love,

Bijal

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You explained why your friend would enjoy camping, identified potential disadvantages such as insects and connectivity issues, and confirmed your interest in joining the trip. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed; for instance, the mention of 'infections' from insects is a bit vague and could have been clarified as 'bites' or 'stings'. Overall, the response is relevant and fulfills the requirements of the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'However', 'Additionally', and 'Furthermore' to link your points. While these are functional, the flow between sentences is occasionally a bit mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, though some transitions could be smoother to improve the overall progression of the letter. The structure is logical and appropriate for a personal letter format.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'adventurous experience' and 'safety precautions'. However, there are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'listing' instead of 'listening', 'mounting' instead of 'mountains', and 'infections' instead of 'infectious'. These errors do not prevent understanding, but they do indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage. Expanding your range of collocations would help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('this letter find you') and incorrect verb forms ('anyone ever have' instead of 'anyone has ever had'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments and capitalization. While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede communication. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically sound.
