Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining why your friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and inviting them to join you. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the section on disadvantages is slightly confusing; you mention that 'good company' creates memories, which is an advantage, not a disadvantage. To improve, ensure that each point is clearly distinguished and fully explained. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the response is well-structured for a General Training Task 1 letter.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices like 'First of all,' 'Moreover,' and 'However' to link your ideas. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'While you are tired from your daily life so, it will be good thought.' Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, which makes some sentences harder to follow. Improving the flow between sentences by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents will help you achieve a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, but there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors. For example, you use 'boos' instead of 'boost' and 'metal' instead of 'mental.' Phrases like 'give you advice about a trip holiday' and 'doing activity with yoga' are slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and checking your spelling. While your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('I am writing a letter to give you advice about a trip holiday that you want to go'), missing articles, and punctuation errors. For instance, 'if you a good company' is missing a verb, and 'So, it's ruin your day' is grammatically incorrect. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the clarity of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement will help improve your accuracy.
