| Criterion | Band |
|---|---|

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.0
The response successfully addresses all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explain why your friend would enjoy camping, identify relevant disadvantages such as weather and insects, and confirm your willingness to join the trip. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and encouraging style throughout. The ideas are well-developed and relevant to the task requirements. To reach a higher band, ensure that all parts of the prompt are explored with equal depth, though your current coverage is sufficient for a strong score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The letter is logically organized with clear paragraphing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the task, which helps the reader follow your ideas easily. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'However', and 'In addition' to link your thoughts. While the flow is generally smooth, some transitions could be more varied to avoid a slightly mechanical feel. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the letter maintains a consistent focus from beginning to end.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly, such as 'unforgettable memories' and 'stress-free'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, including 'yor', 'belive', 'qulity', 'camoung', and 'yoyr'. These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling slips. Using more precise collocations, such as 'pitch a tent' instead of 'set up the tent', would further enhance your lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively, such as 'I think it will be wonderful experience, and I would be happy to share a few suggestions.' There are some grammatical slips, such as 'breath fresh air' (should be 'breathe') and 'you can also lovely activities' (missing verb 'do'). Punctuation is generally good, though there are minor slips like 'Let meknow'. Despite these errors, the meaning is always clear, and the grammatical control is sufficient for the task.
