Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: explaining why the friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and stating whether you can join. However, the development of these points is quite limited. The explanation of why they would enjoy it is brief, and the disadvantages are mentioned only in passing without specific examples (e.g., lack of facilities or weather). Furthermore, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. To improve, you should expand on your ideas with more detail and ensure you meet the word count requirement to fully develop your response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which is good. However, the flow of ideas is somewhat mechanical. There is a lack of varied cohesive devices; the text relies heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' or 'because'. The transition between the benefits of camping and the disadvantages is abrupt. To improve, use a wider range of linking words and phrases such as 'Furthermore', 'On the other hand', or 'Consequently' to connect your ideas more fluidly and logically throughout the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'enjoy it very much' and 'do many activities' are used without much variation. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'as your camping in summer' and 'best moment for you in your life'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited and does not demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. Try to incorporate more descriptive adjectives and topic-specific vocabulary related to camping to enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'as you ask me' (should be 'as you asked me'), 'you go there first time' (should be 'it is your first time'), and 'meet a new people' (should be 'meet new people'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with run-on sentences and missing capital letters. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and ensuring each sentence is punctuated correctly to avoid confusion.
