Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Ankit,
I hope you're in the pink of health! I am writing this letter to bring your attention towards experience of a camping tour, which I recently finished before I went back to Canada. It was a memorable trip for us. The firewood gathering and outside cooking experience on a portable barbecue became milestone for us. I would suggest you to buy a tent and portable stove for making dishes under the bunch of trees, and served with your loved ones. Moreover, you can go for trekking as well, for which you need a good stamina, but this activity keeps you fit, and you would gain some knowledge of harbivores.
Although, the roads are little bit rough at some point, you would need a big truck to travel, and some rainy and winter cloithes for uncertain weather conditions.
I am truly disappointed for my absence due to my prior commitment that coincides with the plan. I would be garteful if you could tell me alternative dates that work for you, I will schedule my days accordingly.
I hope you will enjoy this trip, and get a great experience.
Yours lovingly,
Gurdeep

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: explaining why your friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and addressing the invitation to join. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas are slightly underdeveloped. For instance, the mention of 'harbivores' is unclear and does not clearly link to the benefits of camping. Additionally, the advice regarding the 'big truck' is a bit specific and perhaps less relevant than general camping advice. To improve, ensure that your explanations are more focused on the general experience of camping rather than overly specific logistical details that might confuse the reader.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each addressing a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'Although' to connect your ideas. However, the transition between the benefits and the disadvantages is a bit abrupt. The flow could be improved by using more varied linking phrases to guide the reader through your arguments. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall structure follows the conventions of an informal letter, which helps the reader follow your train of thought easily.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a good range of vocabulary, including some idiomatic expressions like 'in the pink of health'. However, there are several spelling errors and word choice issues that slightly hinder the precision of your writing. For example, 'cloithes' is a misspelling of 'clothes', 'garteful' is a misspelling of 'grateful', and 'harbivores' is likely a misuse of 'herbivores' or a confusion with another term. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they do indicate a need for more careful proofreading and attention to spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'I am writing this letter to bring your attention towards experience of a camping tour' (should be 'the experience') and 'I would suggest you to buy' (should be 'I would suggest that you buy'). The sentence 'Although, the roads are little bit rough at some point' is also slightly awkward. While you attempt complex structures, the control is inconsistent. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would help elevate your score in this criterion.
