Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you addressed the first bullet point regarding why your friend would enjoy camping, the response is incomplete. You failed to describe the disadvantages of camping and did not address the final requirement of stating whether you would like to join your friend this summer. Because the letter is unfinished and lacks the necessary content to fully address the prompt, it cannot be awarded a higher band. To improve, ensure you cover all three bullet points in detail and meet the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which is appropriate for the format. However, the progression of ideas is limited due to the unfinished nature of the text. You used some basic cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Mate', but the overall flow is interrupted by the abrupt ending. To reach a higher band, you should use a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph develops a single, clear point related to the prompt requirements.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for a personal letter, using phrases like 'good health and spirits' and 'stress free'. However, the range is somewhat limited and repetitive. There are minor issues with word choice, such as 'arranging all the camping activities permit', which is not a natural collocation. To improve, try to incorporate more specific vocabulary related to camping (e.g., 'pitching a tent', 'amenities', 'rugged') and ensure your word choices are precise and natural in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'let me explain you the reason' (should be 'explain the reason to you') and 'I am extremely happy for you that finally you are going' (word order). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading. To improve, focus on sentence structure and ensure that your verb patterns and word order are accurate.
