Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dearest Naira,
Hello, Hope this letter of mine reach you in pink of your health. I'm fine here.
You wrote a letter 2 days before that you're going for summer camping, where you wanna go for summer camping I think it was a first time that you're planning summer camp for holiday, actually its a good thought, its better for going camping on holidays feels refresh and peaceful. I know you're going to have a wonderful trip, you enjoy a lot and make good friends, experience different food, don't be introvert be happy enjoy the moments. I give advice for your summer camping, you could take some western wear like baggy jeans, short tops and skirts, some flip flops and shoes for comfort. Don't do heavy makeup it may heat your skin just apply some moisture, don't take heavy meal it would be problem some times. Enjoy a lot, make wonderful moments. I hope after this camping you get some experience of going out with strangers. Next year we plan to go for summer camping with our friends we might have good time. Take care dear, give my greetings to your parents, Love you......
Yours lovingly,
Samrin.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points, but the development is somewhat superficial. You explain why she would enjoy camping (refreshing/peaceful) and mention disadvantages (heavy meals/skin issues), though these are quite limited. The final point about joining her is addressed, but you state you will go 'next year' rather than this summer as requested. The tone is friendly and appropriate for a letter to a friend, but the content lacks depth and specific detail regarding the camping experience itself, which limits the score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter is written as a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow. There is a lack of paragraphing to separate the different points requested in the prompt. While there is a logical flow from greeting to advice to closing, the transition between ideas is often abrupt. Cohesive devices are very limited, relying mostly on simple conjunctions or comma splices. To improve, you should use clear paragraph breaks for each bullet point and incorporate a wider range of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'however', or 'consequently'.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'enjoy a lot' and 'make wonderful moments' are used multiple times. There are some awkward collocations, such as 'reach you in pink of your health' (a non-standard idiom) and 'it would be problem some times'. While the meaning is clear, the range is limited to everyday, informal language. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise vocabulary related to travel and outdoor activities, such as 'scenic', 'unwind', 'logistical challenges', or 'essential gear'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly regarding sentence structure. Many sentences are 'run-on' sentences or comma splices, such as 'I'm fine here. You wrote a letter 2 days before that you're going for summer camping, where you wanna go...'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'it was a first time'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of control over complex sentence structures and the high frequency of punctuation errors prevent a higher score.
