Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Alex,
How's everything going with you? I know you are more busier person than me as you are working hard this year. It is important to take some break and take a holidays. Moreover it is the best time to go on a camping. It is not only for refreshing your mind but also good for spending some quality time with your loved ones.
From my perspective, this is the best decision you take in order to go on a camping especially in the summer time. I know you would enjoy it a lot. I am telling to from my experience, it is a great way to have a fun. You will love to live there and watch the sunsets. On the other hand, there is a problem of rain which can ruin your plans as sometimes there is possibility of rain in this summer time. I hope that never happen to you and you are going to love this trip.
As I am working full time in this whole summer, I am unable to go with you but I will make sure to plan next time. Eventually, I would love to spend some time with you as it's been a long since we met. I hope you will enjoy it. See you super soon.
Kind regards,
Yesha

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining why your friend would enjoy camping, describing potential disadvantages, and stating your availability. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, when mentioning the disadvantage of rain, you could have provided more specific advice on how to mitigate this, such as suggesting waterproof gear or checking the weather forecast. To reach a higher band, ensure that your ideas are extended with more detail or personal anecdotes to fully satisfy the reader's request for advice.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'From my perspective', and 'On the other hand' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the benefits of camping and the mention of rain is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'it', 'this') is always clear will help improve the overall flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message clearly. Phrases like 'quality time', 'refreshing your mind', and 'full time' are used correctly. However, there are some minor inaccuracies and repetitive phrasing, such as 'more busier' (which is grammatically incorrect) and 'have a fun'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid basic errors in word formation. Expanding your range to include more descriptive adjectives or idiomatic expressions appropriate for an informal letter would also help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'more busier person' (double comparative), 'take a holidays' (article error), 'telling to from my experience' (preposition/verb error), and 'it's been a long since we met' (missing noun/time reference). These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve your accuracy.
