Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You explained why your friend would enjoy the camping trip, described potential disadvantages, and clearly stated that you cannot join. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the content is slightly misaligned with the prompt; the prompt asks about a 'camping holiday,' but you have interpreted this as a 'mountain climbing camp' organized by a school. While this is a form of camping, it limits your ability to discuss general camping features. To improve, ensure you stick strictly to the scenario provided in the prompt to avoid potential task response issues.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each addressing a specific requirement of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover,' 'However,' and 'Hence' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'Lastly, I would also like to accompany with you.' The referencing is generally clear, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the flow between sentences feels more natural and less formulaic.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'enriching,' 'perspective,' and 'accompany.' There are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'biting some life theartening insects' (should be 'bites from life-threatening insects') and 'attain some family function' (should be 'attend'). Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'gurantee' and 'instructure.' While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they do indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of common collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'I hope you are doing good' (should be 'well'), 'several types of activities will be there in which you are interested' (awkward phrasing), and 'I would also like to accompany with you' (the verb 'accompany' does not take 'with'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are missing spaces after commas in some places. While your meaning is clear, the frequency of these minor errors prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and preposition usage.
