Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining why your friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and stating whether you can join. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention bears as a disadvantage, the explanation is quite brief and informal. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detail or personal anecdotes. The structure is clear, and the purpose of the letter is evident from the beginning, satisfying the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However' and 'So' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the progression of ideas feels a bit disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the list of items is presented abruptly. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could benefit from more sophisticated linking words to improve the natural flow of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'appropriate', 'supplements', and 'campsite'. However, there are several errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'footware' (footwear), 'clothings' (clothing), 'touch' (torch), and 'gazzing' (gazing). Additionally, phrases like 'live on the lap of nature' are slightly unnatural in this context. To improve, focus on mastering common collocations and ensuring the correct spelling of basic vocabulary related to the topic of camping.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('Your backpack should contains'), article usage ('a camping', 'a stars'), and awkward phrasing ('you want to do a camping in your life'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and the correct use of articles to improve the accuracy of your writing.
