Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: explaining why the friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and stating your intention to join. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the advice on why they would enjoy it is brief, and the mention of 'bear' (bears) as a disadvantage is a bit simplistic. The tone is informal, which is appropriate for a letter to a friend, but the content could be expanded with more descriptive language to better fulfill the 'fully developed' requirement of higher bands. Overall, the response is relevant and covers the task requirements sufficiently.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'apparmtley' (apparently) and 'apart from this there is also an detrimental asspects'. The progression of ideas is logical, but the transitions between sentences feel a bit disjointed. To improve, you should focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'on the other hand', 'consequently') and ensure that your punctuation and paragraphing are used more effectively to guide the reader through your points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'apparmtley', 'replellent', and 'asspects', which occasionally distract the reader. You rely on basic vocabulary like 'very good' and 'enjoy alot'. While you attempt some topic-specific vocabulary like 'mosquito repellent' and 'bbq', the overall control is limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise adjectives and nouns, and ensure you check your spelling, as frequent errors can impede the flow of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'camping in summers are very good' (should be 'is'), 'bear would be there' (should be 'bears'), and the use of 'u' instead of 'you'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing capital letters and incorrect spacing. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to lower the score. You should focus on subject-verb agreement, pluralization, and standardizing your punctuation to improve clarity and accuracy.
