Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining why the friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and stating whether the writer would join. However, the development of these ideas is weak. The explanation for why the friend would enjoy it is repetitive and lacks logical flow, and the description of disadvantages is somewhat illogical (e.g., claiming 'camping is not strong'). The tone is also inconsistent with a friendly letter, as the writer repeats the prompt's instructions ('By looking at the given statement') rather than engaging in a natural, personal correspondence. To improve, focus on providing more coherent and realistic reasons for your opinions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks a natural structure. The use of repetitive introductory phrases like 'By looking at the given statement' and 'By understanding the given statement' makes the writing feel mechanical and disjointed. Paragraphing is present, but the internal logic within paragraphs is often difficult to follow. There is a lack of effective cohesive devices to link ideas smoothly; instead, the sentences feel like a list of separate thoughts. To improve, use transition words such as 'furthermore,' 'however,' or 'on the other hand' to connect your ideas and ensure the letter flows naturally from one point to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'visiting to a camping vacation' and 'spending a camping holiday' are used repeatedly, which hinders the fluency of the text. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'camping is not strong' (likely meaning the tent or the structure is not sturdy) and 'time taking' (instead of 'time-consuming'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express ideas with precision. To improve, try to use a wider variety of synonyms and learn common collocations related to travel and outdoor activities.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'He has asked to advice me' (should be 'asked for my advice') and 'he will not able to spend' (missing 'be'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of modal verbs like 'would' and 'could'.
