Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: explaining why your friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and stating your availability. However, the letter ends abruptly mid-sentence, which leaves the final point underdeveloped. To improve, ensure you complete your thoughts and provide a more natural closing to the letter. While the ideas are relevant, they could be expanded with more specific detail to better engage the reader. For example, when mentioning the northern lights, you could briefly explain why that specific experience is so rewarding for a first-time camper.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Apart from this' and 'But'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes hindered by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'Its been a while taking with you.' To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your referencing (e.g., 'this camping') is clear and consistent throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'nature', 'northern lights', and 'artificial intelligence'. However, there are instances of unnatural word choice, such as 'beautiful feeling' instead of 'beautiful experience' or 'import thing' instead of 'important thing'. To improve, try to focus on correct collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives would also help make your writing more engaging.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter, including issues with verb tenses ('I hear you are planning to going'), articles, and sentence structure. For instance, 'Its been a while' should be 'It has been a while', and 'you need aware from' should be 'you need to be aware of'. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to cause some distraction. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions to improve your accuracy.
