Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Mihir,
I hope you are enjoying your vacation. I am excited to provide you a overview of thrilling experience of camping alongside some precautions.
To begin with, the major reason, you can enjoy camping, is that it is a completely new adventure in your life. Importantly, your mobile phone does not have network which gives you a extraordinary sense of beauty to live with clam nature. Consequently, there would be a chance to feel yourself relax and find a peaceful environment.
However, there could be some uncomfortable events can be occured too. Firstly, you should sleep on uneven surface in a tent. Secondly, washrooms are not easy to access. Moreover, highly possibilities of mosquitoes at night.
Even though having these much difficulties cannot resist me to explore camping site again with my friends. Even plan has been already commenced to go on camping to north side of Ontario this time.
I hope you will be amazed by visiting exquisite camping site this summer.
Warm regards,
Binay.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all three bullet points of the task. You clearly explain why camping is enjoyable, list relevant disadvantages such as uneven surfaces and mosquitoes, and confirm your interest in joining your friend. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed; for example, the explanation of why the lack of mobile network is a positive could be expanded further to fully capture the 'why' behind the enjoyment. Overall, the task is fulfilled effectively, and the purpose of the letter is clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each bullet point, and a closing. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Consequently', 'However', and 'Moreover' to link your ideas. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, the referencing in the sentence 'Even though having these much difficulties cannot resist me' is slightly awkward, which impacts the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different requirements of the prompt, making the letter easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'thrilling', 'exquisite', and 'commenced'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'provide you a overview' (should be 'an overview') and 'clam nature' (likely meant 'calm'). The phrase 'highly possibilities' is grammatically incorrect; 'high possibility' or 'high probability' would be more natural. While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, these occasional inaccuracies prevent a higher score. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly to the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'your mobile phone does not have network which gives you a extraordinary sense' (missing 'an' and comma usage), 'uncomfortable events can be occured' (passive voice error), and 'cannot resist me to explore' (incorrect verb usage). Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the letter. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range.
