Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task effectively. You explained why your friend would enjoy camping, provided relevant disadvantages, and clearly stated your interest in joining the trip. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. The ideas are well-developed, particularly the advice regarding health precautions and the suggestion to teach swimming skills. To reach a higher band, ensure that all advice is clearly linked to the context of camping; for instance, your mention of 'tree climbing' is a bit specific, but it fits the overall theme of an adventurous holiday well.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with clear paragraphing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your ideas easily. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'Hence' to connect your thoughts. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases and ensure that the flow between sentences is more natural. For example, the transition between discussing health risks and the suggestion to bring energy drinks could be smoother to better reflect the causal relationship between fatigue and hydration.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary, using terms like 'mitigate', 'breathtaking', and 'availability'. These choices show an attempt to use more sophisticated language. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'access you to get relief' (should be 'allow you to get relief') and 'tired and fatigue' (should be 'tired and fatigued'). While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on natural collocations—how words typically pair together—will help you achieve a more fluent and precise style.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are several grammatical slips throughout the text. For example, 'I think you will enjoy a lot' is missing an object (e.g., 'enjoy it a lot'), and 'will effects on your health' should be 'will affect your health'. Additionally, there are minor issues with article usage and verb forms, such as 'explore new environment' (should be 'explore a new environment'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not cause significant confusion for the reader. Increasing your control over subject-verb agreement and article usage will strengthen your writing.
