Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Nisha,
Hope this letter finds you in a radiant health and best of the spirits. i am writing this letter to share some possible advice for camping.
To begin with, I know that you are very happy for going on a camping because it is a good time to enjoy with your family. When I went for a camping I face some difficulties so I hope you enjoy this activity with good facilits.
Firstly, you have to book a site online and prepare some things such as, battery, charger, snacks, tent, because there is no available any things for you. However, I can share some drawbacks with you, there are so many mosquitos there so you can grab an ointment with you and also grab a games like Ludo, Uno, badminton.
furthermore, if next time whenever you make a plan for going on a camping just let me know, I will definately come with you.
lots of love from me and my family and if any other details you want just let me know.
Best Regards,
Kinjal.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You explained why your friend would enjoy camping, mentioned disadvantages like mosquitoes, and confirmed your interest in joining them. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of why your friend would enjoy it is quite brief, and the advice regarding preparation could be more detailed to fully satisfy the 'advice' aspect of the task. To improve, try to expand on your points with more specific examples or personal anecdotes to provide a more comprehensive and engaging response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use some basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Firstly', 'However', and 'furthermore'. While these help the flow, the transitions between sentences are sometimes a bit mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, though the connection between the advice on booking a site and the list of items could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the progression of ideas within paragraphs is more fluid.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific words like 'camping', 'site', 'tent', and 'ointment'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'radiant health' (which is slightly unnatural) and 'grab a games' (which should be 'bring some games'). There are also minor errors like 'facilits' (facilities). To improve, try to use more precise collocations and ensure you are using the correct plural forms and articles.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter. Examples include 'you are very happy for going' (should be 'happy about going'), 'there is no available any things' (should be 'nothing is available'), and 'grab a games' (should be 'bring some games'). Additionally, there are issues with capitalization and punctuation, such as 'i am writing' and 'definately'. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and proofreading for basic spelling and capitalization errors.
