Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Saurabh,
I hope this letter finds you well. It's been a while since we met for the last time. I got to know that you are thinking of going for a camping this summer for the very first time. Additionally, you would like to have my advice on that, so here I am going to tell you about my experiences of camping.
I went for a camping last summer, and I enjoyed a lot where I went with my family. As I know you, like what do you like the most whenever you go for a holiday. You always like to enjoy greenery, nature of the earth, and camping is the one where you live in nature. You feel peace while having the cold breeze of air along with voices of birds and animals. I know you enjoy this things a lot, so you will enjoy camping the most.
On the other hand, there could be some possible disadvantages you may get. Firstly, weather extremities like if there is a windy weather or rain, you may get difficulties for your camp to stand stronger. Secondly, summer is the best time to experience the camping. For that reason, many people go for camping and there could be a reason that you will not find the best place at that place.
I wanted to put my interest to come with you for a camping holiday, as I have enjoyed it for the last time I have experienced that. I went with my family time, however I want to experience this with my friend this time.
Best regards,
Dhruti

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining why your friend would enjoy camping, describing potential disadvantages, and expressing your interest in joining them. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed. For instance, the explanation of why your friend would enjoy camping relies on general statements about nature. To reach a higher band, you could provide more specific examples of activities or personal anecdotes that would make the advice more persuasive. Overall, the response is relevant and clearly communicates the required information.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on one of the bullet points. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Additionally', 'On the other hand', and 'Firstly', which help the reader follow your argument. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'For that reason, many people go for camping and there could be a reason that you will not find the best place'. Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using words like 'extremities', 'greenery', and 'experience'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'going for a camping' (should be 'going camping') and 'voices of birds' (usually 'sounds' or 'songs' of birds). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. Focusing on more natural collocations will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'I enjoyed a lot where I went' (missing object), 'you enjoy this things' (plural agreement error), and 'I have enjoyed it for the last time I have experienced that' (awkward phrasing). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions to improve your accuracy.
