Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Yash,
I hope you are doing well. I am really happy to hear that you are planning to go to camping holiday in this summer time. I would love to share you some hint which will help you in your trip.
You can enjoy outdoor activities such as, hiking, cooking outdoor, fishing and siting around campfire at night. It would be great opportunities to get relax from busy schedule.
However, camping has some disadvantages. The weather can unpredictable, heavy rain or cold temperatures can make trip uncomfortable. In addition, sleeping in a tent may not be comfortable as staying in hotel. Moreover, you have to prepare meal on your own and carry all the necessary items, which can tiring.
Personally, I would love to go to camping with you in this summer. It would be more enjoyable and share our responsibilities equally and have lot of fun. let me know if possible when you are planning to go, I will be happy to join you.
Thanks
Your lovingly
Sahil.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly explain why your friend would enjoy camping, outline the disadvantages, and confirm your interest in joining the trip. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and informal style throughout. The ideas are relevant and sufficiently developed to meet the requirements of the task. To reach a higher band, ensure that you expand slightly more on the reasoning behind your points, such as explaining why the specific outdoor activities are personally rewarding for your friend, rather than just listing them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on one of the required points. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'However', 'In addition', and 'Moreover' to transition between ideas. While these are effective, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the transition between sentences feels more natural. For instance, the jump between the list of activities and the benefits of relaxing could be smoothed out with better referencing. Overall, the message is easy to follow and the structure is sound.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using words like 'unpredictable', 'responsibilities', and 'opportunities'. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'go to camping holiday' (should be 'go on a camping holiday') and 'siting' (should be 'sitting'). Additionally, 'share you some hint' is unnatural; 'give you some tips' would be more appropriate. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and checking for small spelling or word-form errors that occasionally distract from the otherwise clear communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'in this summer time' (unnecessary 'time'), 'can unpredictable' (missing 'be'), and 'may not be comfortable as staying' (should be 'as comfortable as'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede the overall meaning of your letter. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs, and try to incorporate more varied complex sentence structures to demonstrate greater grammatical control.
