Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You explain why your friend would enjoy camping, list potential disadvantages, and confirm your interest in joining. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed; for instance, the list of disadvantages like 'adaptation' and 'endorsement' is a bit vague and could have been expanded with more natural explanations to fully satisfy the requirements of a Band 7 or higher. Overall, the response is relevant and covers the task requirements effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'first and foremost', 'on the other hand', and 'moreover' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'endorsement a person should have to adjust'. While the paragraphing is clear and the progression of ideas is easy to follow, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes a bit mechanical, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including phrases like 'monotonous life', 'adventurous', and 'fit as a fiddle'. However, there are instances of inaccurate word choice, such as using 'endorsement' when you likely meant 'willingness' or 'ability', and 'atmosphere' instead of 'environment'. These errors do not impede communication, but they highlight a need for more precise vocabulary usage. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that the words you choose fit the context of the sentence perfectly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I hope you doing well' (missing auxiliary verb), 'i am writing' (lack of capitalization), and 'camping provide' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, there are frequent issues with articles and punctuation. While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To reach a higher band, you should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring consistent capitalization and article usage.
