Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining why the friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and stating whether you would join them. However, the development of these ideas is quite brief. For instance, the explanation of why camping is enjoyable is somewhat vague, mentioning 'inner peace' and 'problem solving' without specific examples. The disadvantages are also listed rather than described in detail. To improve, you should expand on your points with more specific details or personal anecdotes to better meet the requirements of a 'fully developed' response. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph addressing a specific part of the prompt. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. Phrases like 'apart from this' and 'on the other hand' are used, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is present, but the overall structure feels a bit disjointed due to the short, simple sentence structures. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that ideas within paragraphs are more tightly connected.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'scedule' (schedule), 'curicular' (curricular), 'disclouse' (disclose), and 'cones' (cons). Additionally, 'human body' is an unnatural collocation in this context, and 'equipments' is an uncountable noun that should not be pluralized. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors and the reliance on basic vocabulary limit the score. Using more precise terminology related to camping would enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('the' before 'human body'), incorrect verb forms ('i did it before' should be 'I have done it before'), and punctuation issues, such as spaces before commas and a lack of capitalization for the pronoun 'I'. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct subject-verb agreement and consistent capitalization, before attempting more complex structures.
