Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Aish,

I am hoping you are doing well .I have got to know that you are making a plan to go on a camping holiday for the first time this summer . which is pretty awesome.Because you are going to do a rightful thing which will refresh you.

I know that you will enjoy this camping holiday because you can explore a lot of things and main thing is that you will be in gods nature where you will get close to nature and will seriously love the nature after camping . you have to cook your food by yourself and have to go for fishing which is enjoyabe and remember to take all types of sharp thing you can carry because it wild during camping .your first aids bandages in need and enough water that can last for end of your capming days .

However there could be some misshappning that can occur which you can face like too much rain cold and fear of wild animals usually like snakes brown bears and sound of wolfs at night so try to have some kind of sharp objects with you like nife and get warm clothes for cold and collect woods before sun dawns.

If possible I would like to go camping with you this summer because I have a graet experince of camping as I has done camping 3 times in summer days.

Best wishes

sukhman.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining why your friend would enjoy camping, describing potential disadvantages, and confirming your interest in joining. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the advice regarding 'sharp things' and 'knives' is a bit repetitive and lacks a focus on safety or practical camping gear. To reach a higher band, ensure that your explanations are more balanced and clearly structured, providing more specific, helpful advice rather than just listing potential dangers.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the transition 'which is pretty awesome' is a sentence fragment, and the connection between sentences within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt. You rely heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' or 'because'. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand' to create a smoother flow between your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific words like 'camping', 'fishing', and 'first aids'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and spelling errors, such as 'misshappning', 'nife', and 'graet'. Additionally, some phrases are slightly unnatural, such as 'gods nature' or 'sharp thing'. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and nouns related to outdoor activities.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include incorrect verb tenses ('I has done'), missing articles, and punctuation errors, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters after periods. Some sentences are run-on or fragmented, which affects readability. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent punctuation to improve the accuracy of your writing.
