Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Matt,
I hope you are doing well, I am writing this letter to give few recommandation for summer holiday. As this your first trip in this summer, so I have one location in mind that you enjoyed it if you visit there.
My sister visited the Toronto Island last year with her friends, and she told various good things about that place such as Island organised multiple activities for their visitors especially during summer. In addition, you can do boating from that we can see amazing views of high-rise building and city centre and also it have many excellent sort where you can take some pictures of yourself.
However, this loaction have limited disadvantages, for example, it is extremely crowded place due to that you have to wait for the lorger period to get ferry or to obtain tickets for certain activities. Morever, food is very expensive as it situated far way from city.
I would love to involve with you for this trip as because I am very tried from my daily work and this trip will improve my energy and well-being as well our bonding. We will have good time togather.
Regardly,
Piyush

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining why your friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and confirming your interest in joining. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention that Toronto Island has activities, you do not specifically explain why a first-time camper would enjoy the experience of camping itself. The response is clear, but the ideas could be expanded with more specific detail to fully satisfy the requirements of a higher band. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'However', and 'Morever' (spelled 'Moreover'). However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'from that we can see' and 'due to that you have to wait'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would help elevate the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, but there are several errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally hinder the flow. For example, you used 'recommandation' instead of 'recommendation', 'lorger' instead of 'longer', and 'tried' instead of 'tired'. Additionally, phrases like 'excellent sort' and 'involve with you' are not natural collocations. To improve, focus on learning common word pairings and proofreading for basic spelling errors to ensure your vocabulary is used with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('it have many excellent sort'), article usage ('the Toronto Island'), and sentence construction ('As this your first trip... so I have one location'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity. You should focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and checking for consistent verb tense usage to improve your accuracy.
