Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear friend,
I hope you are doing good in your life. I know that you are thinking to go for the camping in these summer vacations. I'm really excited to hear that and you should go on this trip as this trip will add lot of memories and values in your life.
When you go on camping you will get good exposure about nature and other creatures as well. This camping is consist of various adventurous activities such as rock climbing, river rafting, para gliding which enhance your life and I'm very much aware that you go to gym daily and these activities were in your bucket list when we were in school. After this camping you will feel recharged and your mind feel fresh.
On this trip there will be certain disadvantages for example you need to sleep on the ground in your sleeping bags. Don't forget to take odomos as their will be mosquitoes and other insects. On the other hand I'm thinking that I should also join you so that we both can enjoy this camping and you will get a helping hand during this journey.
Looking forward for this trip.
Thankyou
Tamanna

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining the benefits of camping, describing disadvantages, and confirming your interest in joining. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention activities like 'river rafting' and 'para gliding', these are quite intense for a 'first-time' camping trip, which makes the advice feel slightly generic. To reach a higher band, ensure your ideas are more tailored to the specific context of a beginner. The response is well-structured and covers all requirements clearly, providing a solid foundation for the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each addressing a specific part of the prompt. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'When you go', 'On this trip', and 'On the other hand' to link your ideas. While the progression is generally clear, the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and referencing. Some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the message is easy to follow throughout the letter, which meets the requirements for a Band 6.0 or 7.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'adventurous activities', 'recharged', and 'exposure'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'thinking to go for the camping' (should be 'thinking of going camping') and 'this camping is consist of' (should be 'this camping consists of'). Additionally, 'add lot of memories and values' is slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'their will be mosquitoes' (should be 'there will be'), 'your mind feel fresh' (should be 'your mind will feel fresh'), and 'you go to gym daily' (should be 'you go to the gym'). These errors are frequent but do not impede communication. To achieve a higher score, you should work on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and ensuring consistent verb tenses, especially when discussing future plans.
