Dear Sima,
I am writing this to give you an advice on a camping holiday which you are about to go in this summer. I would like to request your attention in reading this out thorougly.
I have done camping twice before with my family. I have a strong hope that you will also love this adventure. Moreover, as you are a person who loves natural scenarios. This holiday will bring in a huge joy in your life and a lifetime memory as well. In addition, camping will assists you in developing an independent behaviour which will significantly helps in your personal life too.
I would like to describe a few possible disadvantages of camping which includes staying away from water until few miles if do not have enough water bottles in backpack. Furthermore, there are high chances of getting cold and cough as high altitude has cold and freezing air. If you take proper precautions you can certainly avoid these situations.
I would like to join you and I am trying my best to get 2 weeks holiday at my workplace. If my manager approves my request I will definetly let you know. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch via phone call. My cell number is [redacted phone].

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining why the friend would enjoy camping, describing disadvantages, and expressing interest in joining. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed; for example, the explanation of disadvantages is a bit vague, focusing on water and cold weather without fully exploring the broader experience. The response is well-structured and covers the requirements clearly, though the development of ideas could be more detailed to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is fulfilled effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the task. The use of cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore' helps to guide the reader through the text. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the sentence fragment 'Moreover, as you are a person who loves natural scenarios', which lacks a main clause. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. There are some attempts at less common collocations, such as 'lifetime memory' and 'independent behaviour'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'give you an advice' (advice is uncountable) and 'natural scenarios' (a more natural choice would be 'nature' or 'the outdoors'). While the range is sufficient to communicate the intended meaning, the errors in word formation and collocation prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('camping will assists', 'which will significantly helps') and article usage errors ('a camping holiday which you are about to go in'). Additionally, there are some sentence fragments and awkward phrasing, such as 'staying away from water until few miles'. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede the overall communication of the message. A greater focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement would improve the accuracy significantly.
