Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points, but the development is inconsistent. While you mention why your friend would enjoy camping and suggest a location, the description of disadvantages is vague and difficult to follow. The final point regarding joining the trip is not clearly stated, as the letter lacks a direct invitation or confirmation. The tone is somewhat informal, which is appropriate for a letter to a friend, but the lack of clarity in expressing your ideas makes it difficult for the reader to fully grasp your intended message. To improve, ensure each bullet point is addressed with a clear, well-developed paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter is divided into paragraphs, which is good, but the logical flow between sentences is often broken. Many sentences, such as 'Some moments very precious for the friends,' do not connect well to the preceding or following thoughts. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the misuse of 'While' and 'So' in the second paragraph. This makes the progression of ideas feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using transition words like 'furthermore,' 'however,' or 'consequently' to link your ideas more naturally and ensure each paragraph has a clear central theme.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and often inaccurate. There are several instances where word choice is confusing, such as 'scuba dying' (likely meaning scuba diving) and 'Benji-jumping' (bungee jumping). Phrases like 'collect the data' are inappropriate in this context. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express more complex ideas precisely. To improve, try to learn common collocations related to travel and leisure, and focus on spelling and word formation. Reading more English texts will help you see how words are naturally combined in sentences.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The letter contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'I am writing regarding for we are thinking,' and incorrect verb forms, such as 'we think in a camping holiday.' Punctuation is also inconsistent, and many sentences are fragmented or lack a clear subject-verb agreement. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb-object order, and proofread your work to correct basic tense and article errors.
