A friend of yours is thinking of going on a camping holiday for the first time this summer. He/She has asked for your advice. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter

• explain why you think your friend would enjoy a camping holiday
• describe some possible disadvantages
• say whether you would like to go camping with your friend this summer

Hi Sarah,

I am happy to hear that you are thinking about going camping this summer. I think would really enjoy it because you have always enjoyed spending time outdoors. It would also give you a great chance to take a break from your usual routine, enjoy some fresh air and try activities such as hiking, swimming and sitting around campfire at night.

However, there are few things you should be prepared for. Sleeping in a tent may not be comfortable, especially if the weather turns cold or rainy. You may also have to deal with mosquitoes and limited bathroom facilities. I would suggest taking warm clothes, insect repellent and a good sleeping bag.

I would definitely love to go camping with you this summer. Since it will be your first time, perhaps we could plan a short weekend trip together and see how you like it.
