Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Raman,
I am writing to inform you that about camping holidays during summer. I think that you would enjoy camping holidays because I know that you are extrovert person and like to communicate with other people. Therefore, it is best chancre for you to speak with others and make new friends. Moreover, I know that you have hectic schedule and stress of their work so by camping you would feel unwind and full of beans of your mind for doing next work.
Although, camping holiday is effective to overcome stress and chance for enjoying, its demerits cannot be overlooked. First and foremost is that safety issue. Sometime, location of camping is not secure and always fear of thief and stolen things. Furthermore, sometime bad weather can create un comfortable situation for spending camping holidays.
Yes, I would like to go on camping holidays with my friend as I have also a lot of burden my work and not meet to my friend long time as well.
I hope we will spend time on camping holidays together and do enjoy a lot.
Your lovingly,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You explained why your friend would enjoy camping, described potential disadvantages, and confirmed your interest in joining them. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of why your friend would enjoy camping is quite brief, and the section on disadvantages could be expanded with more specific examples beyond just 'safety' and 'weather'. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more descriptive detail or personal context.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Although', and 'Furthermore' to link your thoughts. However, some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical or are used incorrectly, such as starting a sentence with 'Although' without a main clause following it in the same structure. Additionally, the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in grammatically correct contexts will help improve the overall cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some good phrases like 'hectic schedule' and 'full of beans'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'best chancre' (chance), 'un comfortable', and 'do enjoy a lot'. Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'inform you that about camping'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and checking for small spelling errors. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise adjectives and adverbs would also enhance the quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an ability to use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing articles ('the safety issue'), incorrect preposition usage ('burden my work'), and subject-verb agreement issues ('I have also a lot of burden'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy. To improve, pay closer attention to basic sentence construction, article usage, and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically sound.
