Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, successfully covering why your friend would enjoy camping, mentioning disadvantages like overcrowding, and confirming that you would like to join them. However, some ideas remain limited and under-developed, which keeps the response at this level. For instance, the reason regarding the hills station Manali mentions the stars and open places, but does not extend this point fully. Similarly, the disadvantages are touched upon briefly with the mention of crowds and difficulty finding a spot, but lack further elaboration. The tone is appropriately informal for a letter to a friend, but the limited development of your key points means the task is only partially satisfied rather than fully explored.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter displays some organisation with a recognizable beginning, middle, and end, using standard paragraph breaks to separate each main point of the prompt. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as using 'Beside this' and 'Moreover' rather than more natural narrative links. Referencing is occasionally unclear, for example in the sentence 'from many times I find a patner, but I can not find any one', where the logical connection between clauses breaks down. While the overall arrangement is coherent enough for the reader to follow your general meaning, the faulty and repetitive use of cohesive elements prevents the text from achieving a higher level of flow and logical transition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey your message about camping. There are noticeable lexical errors and spelling mistakes throughout the text that cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'posibiltiy' instead of 'possibility', 'dwarbacks' instead of 'drawbacks', 'crowed' instead of 'crowded', and 'patner' instead of 'partner'. Furthermore, word choices like 'hills station' instead of 'hill station' and 'you are found of' instead of 'fond of' show a lack of precision. Although you attempt to use less common words like 'challenge' and 'desire', the frequency of spelling and word-form errors restricts the lexical range and keeps the score at this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You demonstrate a limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader, including article and preposition usage, such as 'camping on the hills station Manali,India' instead of 'in the hill station of Manali, India' and 'in fornt of' instead of 'in front of'. Verb forms and tense consistency also present issues, as seen in 'your need some advice' instead of 'you need some advice' and 'these area is very crowed' where plural and singular agreement fails. These persistent errors across basic and complex patterns indicate that better control of grammatical structures is needed.
