Dear Ama
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to give you some basic advice on your first camping holidays this summer. let me epxlain you would enjoy camping holidays this summer. There are so many wild birds, fresh nature and beautiful plants. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, though the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. You successfully mention why your friend might enjoy camping by referring to wild birds, fresh nature, and beautiful plants, and you include some possible disadvantages such as sleeping on the ground and dealing with wild insects. Additionally, you mention whether you would like to go camping together by stating your plan to make a barbecue. However, the explanation and details for each point are brief and lack extension. To move to a higher band, you need to fully develop your ideas with more elaborated explanations and richer supporting details for each bullet point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter shows some overall organization, but there is no clear progression, and the formatting lacks appropriate paragraphing since the text is grouped into a single dense block instead of clear letter paragraphs. Cohesive devices are basic and sometimes inadequate or mechanical, as seen in the abrupt transitions like 'On the other hand' and 'Moreover'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the sudden shift to 'we had a plan' without clearly establishing who is included. To improve, you should structure your letter into distinct paragraphs for a greeting, introduction, body points, and sign-off, while using a wider variety of cohesive links smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. You attempt some less common words, but there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include 'camping holidays' instead of 'camping holiday', 'fresh nature' instead of 'fresh air' or 'scenery', 'quite places' instead of 'quiet places', 'beneficinal' instead of 'beneficial', and 'disadavantages'. To reach a higher lexical band, you should expand your range of vocabulary, use more precise collocations related to nature and camping, and carefully check your spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors when attempting more complex patterns. There are noticeable mistakes in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and punctuation. For instance, 'let me epxlain you would enjoy' is missing a conjunction and contains a typo, 'or our health' misses the preposition 'for', 'on a camping there is no bedroom' has faulty phrasing and preposition use, and 'during the night wather will be change into a bit cooler' contains tense and structural issues. Frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, you need to gain better control over basic sentence construction, verb tenses, and punctuation.
