Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the main parts of the prompt, including why your friend would enjoy camping and some possible disadvantages such as safety guidelines and the need for emergency supplies. However, the development of these ideas is limited and under-developed, particularly in explaining the full range of disadvantages and detailing the experience. While you mention that you cannot join your friend, the explanation lacks full expansion. The tone of the letter is generally appropriate for a friend, though the overall coverage of the bullet points remains basic and partial, fitting the description of addressing the task only partially with ideas that are not fully extended.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation in the letter, such as the use of basic linking words like "Moreover" and "Lastly" to structure your points. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the paragraphing is somewhat abrupt, grouping multiple distinct thoughts together without a smooth logical flow. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the sudden shift into safety advice without a clear transitional sentence. This results in a choppy structure where information is presented in a list-like manner rather than a cohesive letter format.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey your basic message about camping. You attempt some relevant terms such as "safety guidelines", "emergency", and "satellite mode", but there are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling, such as "apolozising" instead of apologising, and awkward phrasing like "extremely boost your confidence" and "burn some wood". These lexical inaccuracies and limited range mean the vocabulary is just sufficient for the task but causes some minor strain or difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors when attempting more complex patterns. There are noticeable grammatical and punctuation mistakes throughout, such as "It will going to have a best experience" (incorrect verb tense and form), "before you plan your holiday i have to" (capitalisation and comma errors), and missing articles or prepositions like "if rain happens" instead of "if rain happens" or "if it rains". These frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction cause some difficulty for the reader.
