Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Avani,
I am writing this letter to let you know about your camping trip on this summer.I am delighted to tell you that it will be very memorable journey. The view is amazing at those tall mountains. I am definately sure that you will enjoy yhis trip.
Despite of the memorable jouney, there are few possible drawbacks which you have to considre. The fuel and caping pass is very costly because of the hill areas. You might have to carry some ready to eat food as well. Since it is summer time, you have to carefull with some wild animals and of course the heatwaves.
I am very adventures person as you know and I am really excited to let you that I also want to join your trip and make unforgettable memories.Would you kindly let me know if there is any space left in your car.
Thank you for your cosideration.
Yours faithfully,
Poorv

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you explain that your friend may enjoy the mountain views and make memorable experiences, mention costs, food, wildlife and heat, and clearly say you would like to join. The disadvantages are relevant, and your invitation to tell you whether there is room in the car makes the letter personal. However, some ideas are only briefly stated. For example, you say the trip will be memorable but do not explain what activities or aspects of camping your friend might enjoy, and the drawbacks are listed without much practical detail. The opening also refers to “your camping trip” rather than directly offering advice about the planned holiday. Develop one or two points further and make the advice more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening about the trip, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a final paragraph expressing your wish to join. This makes the main progression easy to follow, and phrases such as “Despite…” and “Since…” help connect ideas. The closing is also recognisable as a letter ending. To make the organisation more natural and cohesive, use transitions that express the relationship between ideas accurately; “Despite of” does not form a correct contrast, and the shift from enjoyment to drawbacks could be smoother. Some sentences are crowded together, particularly the final paragraph, where the request about the car follows the invitation without clear punctuation. More consistent sentence separation and clearer links would strengthen the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “memorable,” “drawbacks,” “wild animals,” and “heatwaves,” and the reader can understand the main message. However, the range is limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less precise, such as “definately,” “jouney,” “caping pass,” and “cosideration.” Some combinations are also unnatural: “the view is amazing at those tall mountains” and “ready to eat food” do not express the ideas idiomatically. Aim to use accurate, natural phrases for camping and advice, and check spelling carefully. A few more precise details—such as “scenic mountain views” or “camping fees”—would make the description clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple sentences and more complex forms, including “Since it is summer time…” and “Would you kindly let me know if…”. These structures help communicate reasons and make a polite request. However, some grammatical errors remain, including “I am very adventures person” (missing an article and incorrect adjective form), “you have to carefull” (incorrect form after “to”), and “there are few possible drawbacks” (article use). There are also problems with sentence boundaries: “this summer.I” needs a space and clearer punctuation, while “memories.Would” should be separated. Review articles, adjective forms, and the structure “have to + verb,” then proofread punctuation. Greater accuracy across these patterns would make your meaning smoother.
