Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You address the main topic and give relevant reasons your friend might enjoy camping, including enjoying nature, hiking, and spending time with loved ones. You also mention disadvantages such as sleeping in a tent and mosquitoes. However, the response does not fully complete the task: it does not clearly say whether you would go camping with your friend this summer, and the advice about warm clothes and water does not replace that required answer. The ideas are also brief, with little explanation of how the disadvantages might affect your friend. The response is five words below the required minimum, which further limits its development. Add a clear statement about joining the trip and expand one or two points with specific detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a generally understandable sequence: it introduces the recommendation, gives benefits, and then turns to disadvantages and advice. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Consequently” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the letter stops abruptly after “warm cloths and water,” without a closing or a clear final answer about joining the trip, so the overall progression feels incomplete. Some connections are also awkward: the sentence beginning “There are some disadvantages of camping” runs into a comma splice, while the benefits paragraph shifts quickly from relief to scenery and activities. Use clearer sentence boundaries and finish with a direct response and an appropriate sign-off.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “beauty of nature,” “hustle and bustle,” “beautiful scenery,” and “recharge your batteries.” These expressions help communicate the appeal of camping, and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, several spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations reduce accuracy, such as “recomment,” “advatages,” “disadvantges,” and “disturb you sleep.” “Kill time with loved ones” is also less suitable here than a phrase expressing enjoyable shared time. Aim to check spelling carefully and choose collocations that fit the intended meaning. More precise wording for the discomforts of camping would also make the disadvantages clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex structures, including “not only … but also” and a relative clause in “a tent that can be difficult for you.” These attempts show some range, and the main message remains understandable. However, errors in agreement and sentence construction are noticeable: “it allow” should use a singular verb, and “There are some disadvantages of camping, the significant one is…” joins two independent clauses incorrectly. The phrase “because of inconvenience” also needs a more complete grammatical form, while “you sleep” requires a possessive determiner. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly the lowercase “i” and the missing space after “loved ones.” Review agreement, clause boundaries, and possessives, then proofread each sentence.
