Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 2.5

The opening shows an attempt to respond personally: you refer to Sam’s first camping trip and mention your own experience, which could support useful advice. However, the response stops mid-sentence at “since it h”, so it does not explain why Sam would enjoy camping, describe any disadvantages, or say whether you would go together. The task therefore remains only minimally addressed, and the reader cannot identify your advice or position. The response also contains 66 words, below the required 150, leaving too little space to cover the three points. Complete each bullet with specific details—for example, enjoyable outdoor activities, possible discomfort or bad weather, and a clear invitation or refusal.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic letter opening and an initial attempt to organise the advice, with “Firstly” signalling the start of a point. The reference to your previous trip also gives the message a possible direction. However, the response ends abruptly during the first point, so there is no progression to the disadvantages or your decision about joining Sam. The opening sentence contains several ideas joined together, making the sequence difficult to follow, and the comma after “well” creates a run-on sentence. Use separate paragraphs for the three requested points, and connect each idea clearly; this would give the letter a coherent overall arrangement rather than leaving it as an incomplete opening.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-relevant and expressive vocabulary, including “camping,” “fascinating,” and “mistakes,” and the reader can understand that you are referring to a previous trip. However, the range is very limited because the response ends before you develop the topic. Several choices or forms are inaccurate: “advices” is not normally used as a plural noun, “going like it” is an unnatural phrase, and “definetely” is misspelled. These errors make the wording less natural, although the intended meaning is partly recoverable. Build a wider set of camping-related expressions and check spelling and collocations, such as “you’ll definitely enjoy it” and “some advice.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a complex sentence to explain your reaction and experience, and “I hope you are doing well” is a clear, accurate opening. However, the sentence beginning “I was excited to hear” joins several clauses without adequate punctuation, and the final sentence is incomplete: “you will definetely going like it since it h”. There are also errors in verb forms and sentence patterns, including “you will … going” and “which i do not want you repeat.” Capitalisation of “I” is inconsistent. These problems make the message difficult to follow and show limited control of sentence structures. Use shorter complete sentences first, then check verb forms and punctuation when combining ideas.
