Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You make an attempt to address the three requested points: you suggest a riverside forest, mention that many people may be there, and refer to enjoying the trip with friends. However, the reasons your friend would enjoy camping are unclear, and the disadvantage is only briefly stated. Most importantly, you do not clearly answer whether you would personally like to go camping with this friend this summer; the references to “our camping” and “participate” do not establish a definite answer. The letter also spends space on unclear comments about games and memories rather than developing the requested advice. To improve, state your decision directly and give one or two clear, relevant reasons for each point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The response has a recognisable letter format, with a greeting, several blocks of text, and a closing. There is also a basic attempt to connect ideas using phrases such as “the disadvantage” and “the advantage.” However, the ideas are difficult to follow because several points are combined in long, loosely connected sentences, and the progression between paragraphs is unclear. For example, the first paragraph moves from asking about camping to a location, crowds, and friends cooperating without clear links. The second paragraph shifts to games and memories but does not clearly connect these to the advice. Organise the letter into clear sections—enjoyment, disadvantages, and your decision—and use simple linking phrases to show how each idea relates.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “camping,” “forest,” “river,” “disadvantage,” “games,” and “memories,” so the general subject can be identified. However, the range is basic and several word choices or combinations make the meaning hard to understand, such as “the res so many people coming here,” “friends is cooperate,” and “happy to participate to our fiends.” Spelling and word forms are also inconsistent, as in “writting,” “undertand,” and “fiends.” These errors sometimes strain the reader’s effort to interpret your ideas. Build a small set of accurate phrases for giving advice and describing outdoor activities, and check spelling and collocations before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to write connected sentences and use clauses, for example, “the disadvantage of going in that place is…” and “because of…”. However, sentence structures are very limited in control, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation make several sentences difficult to interpret. Examples include “I think that you are enjoy,” “friends is cooperate,” and “Ive been happy to tell you that we`ve been happy.” The response also runs clauses together, particularly in the opening paragraph, without reliable sentence boundaries. Practise accurate simple sentences first, such as “You would enjoy camping because…,” then add one clear subordinate clause at a time. Use full stops and commas to separate complete ideas.
