Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Jhanvi,
Camping is one of the popular activity in summer and you gonna love it!. There are most of the outdoor activities that you will love such as boating and swiming.
However, there are few things you should keep in your mind while going on a camping. The camp site is not clean and has a lot of mosquitos, make sure to keep clothes according to that. Moreover, the biggest issue is regarding the washrooms are most of the camp sites have single washroom shared among a lot of people. Although you can take a bath at lake but the water there is not always clean.
I would like to join you for the camping as i have been there a couple of time and would help you figure out some stuff and would be an exciting trip with you.
Looking forward to see you soon!
Yours lovingly,
Archit

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you explain that your friend may enjoy activities such as boating and swimming, mention concerns about mosquitoes and shared washrooms, and clearly say you would like to join. The letter also has an appropriate friendly opening and closing. However, the reasons for enjoying the holiday are only briefly stated, and the disadvantages are presented as general claims rather than being explained or balanced with practical advice. Your offer to help is relevant, but the final sentence is unclear about why the trip would be exciting. Develop these ideas with a little more explanation—for example, what makes the activities enjoyable and how your friend could prepare for the facilities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an opening about the appeal of camping, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a final paragraph answering whether you would go. Linking expressions such as “However,” “Moreover,” and “Although” help show relationships between ideas, and the letter format is easy to follow. This already gives the message a coherent progression. Some connections are less smooth, though: “the biggest issue is regarding the washrooms are…” combines two sentence patterns, while the final sentence joins several ideas without clear boundaries. Use more precise sentence links and separate the offer to help from the comment about the trip being exciting to make the progression more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “camping,” “outdoor activities,” “mosquitos,” “washrooms,” and “shared.” There is some variety in how you describe the holiday and its drawbacks. However, the range is limited, and several choices or forms are noticeably inaccurate or informal, such as “popular activity,” “keep in your mind,” “stuff,” and “you gonna love it.” “Swiming” is also misspelled. These choices make parts of the letter sound less natural, even though the overall message remains understandable. Aim for more precise collocations and a consistently friendly but appropriately written tone, such as “keep in mind,” “camping activities,” and “equipment.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although” and a reason introduced by “as.” The main message is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make a sentence difficult to follow. For example, “one of the popular activity” has an agreement and article problem, and “the biggest issue is regarding the washrooms are…” contains an incorrect sentence structure. There are also errors in “you gonna love it,” “a couple of time,” and “Looking forward to see you.” Work on plural forms, verb patterns, and sentence boundaries; for instance, write “one of the popular activities,” “a couple of times,” and “I’m looking forward to seeing you.”
