Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the three requested points: you say your friend may enjoy spending time with friends, mention pests as a disadvantage, and explain that you cannot join because of a course. However, the advice is only partly developed. The enjoyment point is general, and the disadvantage focuses on insects without explaining other practical difficulties or how they might affect the trip. Your decision not to go is clear, but the closing sentence, “I hope my advice will you,” does not communicate the intended meaning. Develop each point with a specific reason or example, and make your final message complete so the reader can follow your advice and plans.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable opening, body, and sign-off, and the ideas appear in a broadly sensible order: enjoyment, a possible problem, then whether you can attend. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Furthermore” help signal movement between points. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and the second point is not clearly framed as a disadvantage before the advice about sprays and creams. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “I hope my advice will you,” which interrupts the ending. Use simpler, more direct transitions and organise the body into clear paragraphs, with each paragraph focused on one task point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “camping trip,” “quality time,” “pests,” and “short-term course.” There are also attempts at more expressive phrasing, such as “radiant health and high spirits,” although this sounds overly formal for a friendly letter. Several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, including “duing,” “mosquites,” “addmission,” and “apply creams on body.” The range is sufficient to communicate the main topics, but some phrases are awkward or imprecise. Aim for natural, familiar expressions suited to writing to a friend, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “however.” However, errors occur frequently in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction, and some make the message difficult to interpret. For example, “you will plan to going” should use a consistent verb pattern, while “I have already took” needs the correct past participle. “I hope my advice will you” is incomplete, and “protect themselves” does not agree with the person being addressed. Practise accurate verb patterns and complete sentence structures, then check pronouns, articles, and capitalisation such as “I.”
